Kenya's political landscape is dotted with a leadership continuum that is devoid of purposive stewardship. The consequence is that institutions such as political parties, around which organization for ascendancy to national power and governance spring, are captive to a leadership mindset which consider change an anathema and youth, a threat to the well being of society and the ‘order of things'. Thus allocation of resources for successful political mobilization and electoral returns within political parties is at all times skewed against young leaders. This, in turn, undermines the emergence of a sustainable alternative and visionary leadership for Kenya. Compounding the challenges is the reality that the well established older politicians have, overtime, amassed wealth and established a formidable resource base compared to the young leaders.
