Mr Kennedy Barry Karanja

Kennedy-Barry-Karanja.jpg“My first love is political affairs and being able to be the change that I want to see, or an agent of change in society,”Kennedy was born on October 7th 1986 in West Pokot district when the parents were on holiday. He Is studying Community Development at Daystar University. An exemplary young leader, Kennedy was the first President of the ‘Children Parliament’ and a founding member of the ‘Children Cabinet’. He was also instrumental in the formation of the Kenya National Youth Parliament. Kennedy was the only person at the Bomas Constitutional Conference under the age of eighteen; he was still in high school. Kennedy has worked with Plan International, Kenya Human Rights Commission, and Citizen’s Coalition for Constitutional Change (4Cs). Is now at the Greenbelt Movement running the Economic Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union. Has was nominated for the Reebok International Award for 2007. His dream is to be the MP for Limuru.

 

 

Mr Stephen Omondi Denge


Mr-Stephen-Omondi-Denge.jpg Holds a BA degree from Moi University and has been the executive co-ordinator of political and democratic issues within the Nyanza CBO/CSO Council based in Kisumu, where his activities included conflict resolution, mediation and civic education.

 

Mr Sheero Badi Ali

Mr-Sheero-Badi-Ali.jpg"I have seen a lot of bad leadership from all types of people. We have treated the issue of choosing leaders too casually and the result is poor governance at all levels.Born in 1976, Badi has been presently the KANU Secretary for Youth Affairs. In the 2002 general elections, he was the KANU run for a civic seat in Kamukunji Constituency. A football enthusiast, Badi is credited with organising youth tournaments that have exposed and encouraged talented youth in the area. Says Badi: He is involved in efforts to shape the character of his party, believing that changes on Kenya's political landscape are all part of African's struggle to better themselves.

 

Mr Douglas Mogeni Arege

Mr-Douglas-Mogeni-Arege.jpgHe aspires to push for the much-needed change of the Kenyan political character through living the change.Born in 1982, Douglas is a graduate of the University of Nairobi where he has also been chairman of the Anthropology Students Association. In 2005, he was convener of the Student’s Movement for NO, a lobby championing for a people-driven constitution. 

Ms Edna Gathigia

Ms-Edna-Gathigia..jpgA believer in engendered development for Africa’s growth, Edna calls for the empowering of women at the grassroots.Born in May 12, 1983, Edna holds a B.A. International Relations from USIU, and has strong political ambitions. Edna has been a member of the Student Government, at USIU and she believes that PLDP is the platform to sharpen her intrinsic qualities. She believes that Africans should look internally within the continent for a solution to their problems instead of outwardly. She wants to be “the change that is the new Africa”She ran for mathira parliamentary seat  in the 2007 elections and emerged third  in the all male race.

Mr C. J. Ochieng Kanyadudi

Mr-C.-J.-Ochieng-Kanyadudi.jpgThe Political Science graduate describes himself as a “political animal” desirous of using his over 10 years involvement in youth leadership “to the change the dynamics of the current political culture that is based on cronyism, atheism and mediocrity.”Born on May 18, 1972, Ochieng is an Assistant Registrar,at the college of Architecture and Engineering, University of Nairobi.  His interest in reading has exposed him to great sources of greatest knowledge and principles. He is gunning for the Ndhiwa parliamentary seat in the 2007 general elections. He is chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Youth League, & a delegate to the Party Delegates Conference (PDC) and is also a prominent member of the ODM Party.

 

Mr Jeremiah Kiwoi

Mr-Jeremiah-Kiwoi.jpg"Leadership is a Project"Jeremiah is the research coordinator and operations officer on the “Leadership Project” at Media Focus On Africa Foundation. He vied unsuccessfully for the Mwatate parliamentary seat in 2002 and 2007. A fervent human and land rights activist, Jeremiah has been championing the cause of the Taita community, which has been steadily deprived of its land by politically correct individuals. He is a founder member and director of the Kenya Taxpayers Network lobbying for Kenyan taxpayers rights to participate in the administration and application of taxes. Jeremiah was coordinator of the ODM Coast Province and Eastern Province campaigns during the 2005 Referendum on the Draft Constitution.
